Air Conditioning Refrigeration (Level I)   24 Hours

This course will focus on mechanical refrigeration and air-conditioning fundamentals, along with trouble shooting and problem solving. Topics include:

  • Basic refrigeration fundamentals
  • Air-conditioning fundamentals
  • Preventative and routine maintenance
  • Troubleshooting

Refrigeration Technician CFC Certification (Level II) 16 hours

This course is designed for anyone who deals with refrigeration or air-conditioning on a regular basis, including Maintenance Technicians, Service Technicians, Building Managers and Apprentice HVAC Technicians.  This course includes training and EPA testing for Technician Certification for refrigeration handling under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act. Topics covered include: maintenance procedures and safe handling of refrigerants to conform to the rules set forth by the EPA.

Refrigeration/Certification Program (Level III) 16 hours

This course can be customized to provide hands-on training for customer specific equipment.  Participants will understand methods of leak testing, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, refrigerant charging, use of the pressure/temperature chart, dial-a-charge, and sight glass methods of refrigerant charging.  Course also covers proper use and care of recovery equipment and other refrigeration service tools.  Topics include:

  • Common problem indicators
  • Manifold gauges
  • Charging equipment
  • Evacuation process
  • Recovery equipment
  • P/T charts
  • Methods of leak testing
  • System charging (liquid and vapor)
