This course covers the basic operation and function of an AED, including proper operating methods. Topics include:

Aerial Work Platform – Initial 8 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: MIOSHA Part 32, MIOSHA Part 45, ANSI Standard A92.3)
This course will address the administrative requirements as well as the basic requirements that apply to powered and manually propelled aerial lifts. Topics include:
- Classification types
- Construction
- Operation
- Maintenance and inspection
- Permits and training
- Operating hazards
- Fall protection requirements
- Safety rules and regulations outlined by OSHA, MIOSHA and ANSI
Bloodborne Cleanup 8 hours
 (Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.30, MIOSHA Rule 325.7000 Part 554)
This course provides information on occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and how to contain, decontaminate, and cleanup blood and biological tissues following an injury or accident. Selection and use of personal protective equipment and cleanup techniques are demonstrated prior to practice exercises. Topics include:

- Exposure control plans
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Containment, decontamination and cleanup methods
- Biohazard disposal
Bloodborne Pathogens 2 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.30, MIOSHA Rule 325.7000 Part 554)
This course will cover the epidemiology and symptoms of bloodborne diseases as well as information on vaccinations, post-exposure treatment, monitoring programs and recordkeeping requirements. Topics include:
- State and Federal regulations
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Biohazard symbols
- Exposure Control Plan
- Job identification and classifications
- Diseases of concern
- Engineered safeguards and workplace practices
- Post-exposure evaluations and recordkeeping
Confined Space Avoidance 2 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: MIOSHA parts 90, 490, and 622)
This course will provide participants with guidelines for safe work practices for individuals who will not be performing confined space entry, but do work in proximity to confined spaces and have some risk of inadvertent entry if not properly informed. Topics include:
- Regulatory requirements
- Types of hazard
- Atmosphere testing
- Confined space criteria
- Secondary air spaces
- Client procedures
Confined Space Entry 4 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA 1910.146, MIOSHA parts 90, 490, and 622)
This course introduces participants to the dangers associated with confined spaces and includes a review of the procedures necessary to perform safe entry. Topics include:
- Confined spaces in the workplace
- State and Federal regulations pertaining to confined spaces
- Hazards associated with confined spaces, including proper atmospheric monitoring and lock-out/tag-out
- Personal protective equipment
- The permit process
- Emergency procedures for confined spaces
 CPR – Initial 6 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: 2005 Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Guidelines, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151)
This course provides participants with the proper response skills for emergency scene assessment, choking assistance, unconscious victim resuscitation, cardiac arrest and stroke. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification from the American Safety and Health Institute.
CPR – Refresher 4 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: 2005 Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Guidelines, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151)
This course provides a refresher and covers updates in CPR and use of an AED. Participants will refresh their sills in responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies. Upon successful completion, participants will receive re-certification from the American Safety and Health Institute.
Electrical Safety 4 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.331 & 332, MIOSHA Part 40)
This course covers electrical safety-related work practices, and is designed as an overview of the requirements for employees and employers who work with, or may be exposed to, electric power that is not reduced to a safe level by electrical installation requirements. Topics include:
- Safety signs and symbols
- Insulated and personal protective equipment
- Training requirements
- Review of “qualified” and “non-qualified” employees
- Common hazards
- Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Safe work practices
- Required clearances
Excavation and Trenching 8 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1926.650, MIOSHA Standard Rule 408.40114 Part 9)
This course focuses on OSHA standards and the safety aspects of excavation and trenching. Participants will review procedures necessary to safely work around excavations. Topics include:
- Excavation hazards
- Soil Analysis
- Shoring systems and techniques
- Shielding
- Worker responsibilities
Fall Protection 2 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1926.500, 1926.107b-107c, MIOSHA Standard Part 45)
This course will emphasize approved fall prevention policies. Topics include:
- Fall hazard analysis
- Conditions that require fall protection
- The “Buddy System”
- Fall arrest system equipment and proper usage
- Equipment limitations along with inspection requirements
Fire Extinguishers 1 hour
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.157, MIOSHA Part 8 and 18)
This course is designed to familiarize participants with portable fire extinguishers and their use in fire protection. Topics include:
- Basic components of a fire
- Techniques for using a fire extinguisher
- Classifications of fires and extinguishers
- Fire and smoke hazards
First Aid – Basic 4 hours
(Meets regulatory requirement for: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151)
This course will cover basic first-aid techniques for various injuries and illnesses. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification from the American Safety and Health Institute. Topics include:
- Evaluating an emergency situation
- Recognizing and care for life-threatening emergencies in adults
- Caring for injuries
- Treating sudden illnesses
- Recognizing and care for heat- and cold-related emergencies
First Aid – Advanced 8 hours
This course provides a level of training between Basic First Aid and the training provided to Emergency Medical Technicians. Participants will learn to identify and categorize symptoms of severe trauma and appropriate first aid treatments. Prerequisites: Basic CPR and First Aid. Topics include:
- Bloodborne pathogens
- Personal protection
- Shock
- Skeletal injuries
- Burns
- Severe allergic reaction
- Severe blood loss
- Head injuries

Forklift & Powered Industrial Trucks 8 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA 1910.178, MIOSHA Part 21)
This course is designed to train participants in the safe operation and maintenance of fork trucks, tractors, platform life trucks, and other specialized industrial trucks powered by electric motors or internal combustion engines. Successful completion of a written exam and skills proficiency demonstration are required for certification. Topics include:
- Capabilities of the equipment and attachments
- Purpose, use and limitations of controls
- Training and inspections
- Practice operation of assigned vehicles
- Visibility (including restrictions due to loading)

Hand Power Tools 2 hours

This course covers safety-related work practices, maintenance and operation of hand tools and portable powered tools in the workplace. Topics include:
- Energy supplies for portable tools and associated hazards
- Safe work practices
- Maintenance and inspection of tools
- Regulatory requirements
Hearing Conservation 1 hour
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.25, MIOSHA Standard Rule 325.60123 Part 380)
This course is designed to provide workers with information on occupational noise exposures and hearing impairment. Participants will become familiar with how to properly utilize noise reduction controls, wear and care for hearing protectors, and recognize the types of hearing loss. Topics include:
- Regulatory requirements
- Noise reduction methods
- Causes of hearing loss
- Types of hearing protectors
- Audiometric testing
Ladder Safety 2 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.24 and 1910.27, MIOSHA Standard Rule 408.10311 Parts 3 & 4)
This course will familiarize participants with regulatory requirements for the installation and use of fixed and portable ladders. Topics include:
- Regulatory requirements
- Proper pitch
- Anchoring and supports
- Load limitations

Lead Awareness 2 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1926.62, 1910.1025)
This course is intended to provide information on regulatory requirements involved in working with lead, medical surveillance programs and the adverse health effects associated with excessive exposure to lead. Topics include:
- Permissible exposure limits
- Exposure assessments
- Symptoms that may indicate exposure
- Medical surveillance
- Personal Protection Equipment
- Engineering Controls
- Housekeeping & personal hygiene
- Safe work practices
Lockout/Tagout 2 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.147)
This course addresses occupational safety hazards that may cause workplace accidents and injuries during maintenance, service or repair of equipment. Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) provides training in specific practices and procedures to safeguard employees from unexpected energization or startup of machinery and equipment. Topics include:
- Employer/Employee responsibilities
- Creation of written programs
- Employee training
- Annual inspections and normal production operation exemptions
- Use of locks, tags, chains, wedges, key blocks, adapter pins, machine guards, etc.
Mobile Equipment 6 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.1000, 1910.179, 1910.180 and 1910.181, MIOSHA Standard Rule 408.12152 Part 21, ANSI B56.1)
This course will familiarize participants with the safe operation and maintenance of mobile equipment. Topics include:
- Engine or motor operation (including operation limitations)
- Steering and maneuvering
- Visibility (including restrictions due to loading)
- Attachment adaptation
- Inspection and maintenance
- Refueling and/or recharging
- Surface conditions
- Composition of loads and load stability
- Load manipulation (in pedestrian traffic, closed environments, etc.)
Respiratory Protection (Initial) 4 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.134, MIOSHA Part 451)
This course will introduce participants to common airborne hazards and the protective devices used to ensure safe work conditions. Topics include:
• Respirator types and selection
• Fit testing
• Pre-operational checks (inspection)
• Donning & Doffing
• Routine maintenance requirements (including cleaning and storage)
• Symptoms of respirator malfunction and how to handle
Respiratory Protection (Refresher) 2 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.134, MIOSHA Part 451)
This course is intended for participants needing recertification in Respiratory Protection. Participants will review the topics previously covered in the initial training session (refer to topics listed above).
Rigging & Safety (Overhead Cranes) 16 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1910.179, 1910.184, MIOSHA Part 10 and 18)
This course will address occupational safety hazards associated with operating overhead cranes. Participants will learn techniques and methods to accomplish safe and proper operation of a crane. Topics include:
- Safe rigging practices (capabilities and limitations)
- Proper equipment inspection
- Limit switches and locking safety devices
- Preventative maintenance
- Hoisting and lowering
- Load weight determination
- Bridge and Trolley travel
Scaffold Safety - Awareness 4 hours
(Meets regulatory requirements for: OSHA Standard 1926. 454, MIOSHA Part 5, 12 and 21)
This course is designed to ensure that anyone who performs work on scaffolding recognizes the associated hazards and understands the procedures to control and minimize those hazards. Topics include:
• Scaffolding regulations and standards
• Recognition and preventative measures
• Work procedures
• Personal fall arrest system inspection, care and use
